Police in Waterville say an autopsy will be performed on an unidentified body that was found behind the Morning Sentinel building.
The body of a white man with short dark hair was discovered late Sunday afternoon behind the newspaper on a steep embankment that ends at the Kennebec River. The man was dressed in blue jeans but no shirt, and blood could clearly be seen on his upper back.
Waterville Police Detective Sgt. John Gould says police are treating the death as suspicious and that an autopsy would be performed Monday.
The body was discovered by two teenage boys, 14 and 17, who were waiting in the newspaper parking lot for their father, who is a reporter.
