Booth Newspapers to Implement Automated Subscription Starts Portal

By: Press Release | Marketing G2

GRAND RAPIDS, MI., June 15, 2011—Seven media outlets owned by Booth Newspapers will soon go live with an intelligent database portal that automates new subscription starts. Marketing G2, a subscriber engagement and marketing technology company based in Philadelphia developed the portal, called Solicitor Concierge.

Solicitor Concierge provides real-time authorization of credit cards, validates address information, and eliminates processing of paper order forms. Sales representatives are equipped with online tools and mobile solutions to automate processing of new subscriptions, get information on the latest promotions, and track the status of starts.

“After implementation, Solicitor Concierge and Mobile Subscriptions will become an integral part of Booth Newspapers’ business plan. Our sales team in the field will be able to securely process subscriptions and payments, while our management team will have the ability to review near real-time reporting,” said Brook Powers, Regional Manager for Circulation Sales and Marketing at The Grand Rapids Press, Muskegon Chronicle, and Kalamazoo Gazette.

Thanks to its simple interface and easy learning curve, companies save money, subscribers get faster delivery, and sales teams are empowered with more information at the time of sale. Solicitor Concierge is customized around a newspaper’s circulation system, making the transition to a new subscription start portal as pain free as possible for users. Many media properties in the United States are taking orders for new subscriptions using Solicitor Concierge and its counterpart, Mobile Subscriptions, including The Los Angeles Times, The Denver Post, and The Dallas Morning News.

“Since its initial rollout, Solicitor Concierge and Mobile Subscriptions have successfully processed nearly a million new subscriptions. When it comes to database development and knowledge of newspaper circulation systems, no one delivers better than Marketing G2,” said John F. Peters, Product Manager at Marketing G2.

Booth Newspapers operates numerous newspapers throughout Michigan, including The Grand Rapids Press, Muskegon Chronicle, Kalamazoo Gazette, Bay City Times, Saginaw News, Jackson City Patriot, Flint Journal,, Ann Arbor Offset, and the Michigan Business Review. The properties’ contracted sales representatives will begin using Solicitor Concierge in the field and in the office by the end of July.
