Several syndicated cartoonists are scheduled to appear at “Walt Disney’s Hometown Toonfest” Sept. 16-17 in Marceline, Mo., where Disney lived from 1906 to 1911.

Among them is Jim Borgman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist for The Cincinnati Enquirer and King Features Syndicate, and co-creator (with Jerry Scott) of the “Zits” comic for King.

Others slated to attend include “Ziggy” cartoonist Tom Wilson Jr. of Universal Press Syndicate and Glenn and Gary McCoy, who do the recently launched “Flying McCoys” comic for Universal. Glenn also creates “The Duplex” strip for Universal, and editorial cartoons for the Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat and Universal.

The Missouri event (www.toonfest.net) is sponsored in part by Andrews McMeel Universal, parent of Universal Press. AMU is based in Kansas City, which is about 120 miles from Marceline.
