Boston.com, the online arm of The Boston Globe, has partnered with Inform Technologies. Boston.com was one of 16 publishers including Conde Nast?s business magazine Portfolio as well as Newsweek to sign on this week with the search-related technology company.
Inform helps publishers organize information across content in order to make search results more relevant. Each article is identified by topic, industry, organization, person, place, and product by a process called meta tagging. Readers can find related articles within the site, in addition to archives, videos, podcasts, blog entries, and entire Web, without having to click away from the site.
?We?re always evaluating new ways to showcase our content in the changing world of online news consumption,? Caroline Little, CEO of WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive, said in a statement. ?We see offsite linking and topic-based organization as ways to help readers find the best, most current information about topics of interest.?
