‘Boston Globe’ Names New Ad VPs

The Boston Globe appointed Peter Ockerbloom, vice president of advertising, retail and national, and Timothy J. Murphy to vice president of advertising, marketing and sales. Ockerbloom, 37, was previously retail advertising director and Murphy, 36, was executive director, advertising marketing.

Both will work with Lisa DeSisto, advertising vice president. DeSisto will continue to be responsible for classified sales and business development and will assume the additional duties for online sales at Boston.com. Her title changes to vice president of advertising, classified and online sales.

Ockerbloom has been with the paper for 13 years serving in sales and management positions. Murphy joined The New York Times Co. in 2000 as vice president of business operations at Abuzz, an Internet service acquired by the company. He later worked at BostonWorks, the Globe?s recruitment division, and introduced online ad auctions for the front page of the Sunday section.

Additionally, Richard Masotta has been promoted to executive director, advertising operations. Masotta, 51, has held a variety of positions in the Globe’s advertising department and specializes in operations and workflow development.
