‘Boston Globe’ Names VP/Digital Content Development

Jeff Moriarty has been named to the newly created position of vice president/digital content development at The Boston Globe, effective Sept. 13.

Moriarty, 39, joins the Globe from About.com, where he most recently served as senior vice president/product management. In his new capacity, he will develop and execute digital strategies to expand the Globe’s audience beyond the print edition and Boston.com. He will report to Editor Marty Baron.

Prior to joining About.com in 2009, Moriarty designed and managed digital products across other properties of The New York Times Co. Before that, he was vice president for new media at The New York Times Co.’s Regional Media Group, where he was responsible for the Internet strategy and operations for 14 newspapers.
