The Boston Globe has filed a lawsuit in a Massachusetts court against employees of its division Globe Direct.
The paper alleges that six of its former “long-term” employees at the direct marketing subsidiary used proprietary information to start up a new business under Kirkwood Printing Co.
The Globe is claiming in the suit, filed in Middlesex Superior Court on Monday, that the employees “conspired for months to steal confidential information and start a new company in direct competition for Globe Direct customers,” according to a statement released by the Globe. “In some cases, the employees literally packed up and carted off boxes of valuable information vital to maintaining Globe Directs business, without authorization,” the paper claimed.
Some of the employees were senior management at Globe Direct.
