The Boston Globe is converting its Sunday BostonWorks recruitment section to a tabloid pull-out debuting on Jan. 7. The new tab replaces the broadsheet section.
In addition to the Sunday paper, the Globe will distribute BostonWorks in the free tabloid Metro Boston, which its parent company, The New York Times Co., owns a 49% stake in the publication, and in the Tuesday edition of the Globe. This will increase its print distribution to more than 1.1 million.
?We created this new format to meet the needs of both our advertisers and the local job seekers,? said Jason Kissell, managing director of BostonWorks, in a statement. ?The new format will create a better search experience for job seekers while enabling us to almost double the section?s distribution through Metro and Tuesday Boston Globe insertions.?
