Kevin R. Convey is leaving after more than three years leading the Boston Herald to become editor of New York’s Daily News.
He succeeds Martin Dunn, who announced Tuesday that he is stepping down due to family issues.
“I was presented with a great opportunity to work in New York, where I’ve always wanted to work, and work for one of the big papers there,” Convey told the Herald in a report published Wednesday. “I’ve grown up at the Herald and so it’s heartbreaking to leave in some ways — to leave a place where you’ve spent so much time and a place where you have so many friends, but change is good and life goes on.”
