Braddock Among Eisner Award Nominees

Paige Braddock, who does “Jane’s World” for United Media’s Comics.com, is one of the Eisner Award nominees in the “Best Writer/Artist — Humor” category.

Eisner Award winners will be announced this Friday at the San Diego Comic-Con.

One of the Eisner nominees for best comics-related book is “Masters of American Comics” by John Carlin, Paul Karasik, and Brian Walker (Yale University Press). Walker is a writer for the “Hi and Lois” strip distributed by King Features Syndicate.

Another Eisner category is “Best Archival Collection/Project — Comic Strips.” Nominees include “The Complete Calvin & Hobbes” by Bill Watterson (Andrews McMeel Publishing), “The Complete Peanuts, 1955-1956, 1957-1958” by Charles M. Schulz (Fantagraphics Books), “Krazy and Ignatz: The Komplete Kat Komics” by George Herriman (Fantagraphics), “Little Nemo in Slumberland: So Many Splendid Sundays” by Winsor McCay (Sunday Press Books), and “Walt and Skeezix” by Frank King (Drawn & Quarterly).
