Online marketing services company BrandMuscle Inc., Beachwood, Ohio, has launched BuildMyAd, which, unlike other BrandMuscle solutions facilitating strictly defined ad versioning to comply with corporate standards, allows small, independent advertisers unaffiliated with a brand to customize print and online advertisements by leveraging the Adobe Flex open-source development framework for creating rich Web applications.
BrandMuscle said it designed BuildMyAd as a self-service solution with two distinct applications; to help media companies drive revenue with efficient display and classified advertising templates, and to allow larger businesses to offer a marketing portal to their small and medium-size business customers.
BuildMyAd lets users create customized, locally relevant print materials through configurable online interfaces and a five-step process that walks the advertiser through planning, designing and purchasing display and classified ads, inserts, online banners and other materials. A publication can easily set up its rates, sizes and packages, allowing advertisers to know how much each ad costs before its purchase. Users can save their work at any time and return later to complete an order, which is then stored in the system for retrieval and placement. Payment can be made by credit card, invoice or account number.
Businesses also can use BuildMyAd to provide a marketing portal to their small and medium-size clients. Similar to the media company application, independent advertisers log on to a marketing portal to create customized advertising materials.
