A man from Astoria, N.Y., won the Parade magazine caption contest that featured a drawing by “Speed Bump” cartoonist Dave Coverly of Creators Syndicate.

The drawing by Coverly, one of Parade’s contributing cartoonists, pictured Batman and Superman sitting next to each other — perhaps at a bar. The winning caption, announced in yesterday’s magazine, showed Batman saying: “You’re waiting for Wonder Woman? I’M waiting for Wonder Woman.”

Winner Tom Camastra will receive a signed copy of the cartoon.

Yesterday’s Parade also featured a new Coverly cartoon for readers to caption. It features a person wearing a rabbit suit being looked at by a doctor. Entries are due June 20.

Parade is distributed in more than 400 Sunday newspapers with a circulation of 32 million.
