The Daily Banner will switch next week from daily publication to twice-weekly editions.
The Cambridge newspaper will be published Wednesdays and Fridays, starting Aug. 6.
In an article in today’s edition, Independent Newspapers President Ed Dulin says the daily editions have been thin on news and advertising. He says the twice-weekly editions will be stronger for readers and advertisers.
The U.S. newspaper market is struggling amid a flagging economy, rising costs and falling ad revenue.
The Banner’s Web page says it is the Eastern Shore’s oldest daily newspaper. It was founded in 1897.
Dulin says the paper will publish news that breaks between editions on its Web site.
