Farley, the famous “For Better or For Worse” sheepdog who died in 1995, will soon be pictured on some of the license plates in Ontario — the home province of “FBorFW” cartoonist Lynn Johnston.

Receiving a portion of the proceeds from each license plate sale will be the Farley Foundation, which helps fund medical treatment of pets belonging to seniors and disabled people with limited incomes.

Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation will start selling the license plates on March 26, according to FBorFW.com

“For Better or For Worse” appears in more than 2,000 newspapers via Universal Press Syndicate.

License plates picturing the animals in “Mutts” — the comic by Patrick McDonnell of King Features Syndicate — have been available in New Jersey for several years.
