‘Canned’ Web Feature and Comedy Performances for Jason Love

By: E&P Staff

Columnist, comic writer, and stand-up comedian Jason Love is now doing a weekly Web feature called “Canned.”

The feature — which can be seen here — is co-hosted by Gretchen Macchiarella.

Also, the California-based Love has several comedy dates coming up in his home state. He’ll do his stand-up routine this Friday at the Nicholby’s Nightclub in Ventura, April 5 at the Sportsman Bar & Restaurant in Camarillo, and April 18 at the Rotary Club of Simi Valley’s 31st annual golf tournament.

The self-syndicated Love — whose work appears in The Ventura County (Calif.) Star and other newspapers — does a humorous print column and video column, and writes the “Snapshots” comic drawn by Vladimir Stankovski.

Love is one of four people profiled in a March 2008 E&P magazine story about syndicated creators who also do stand-up comedy. The other three are “Bizarro” cartoonist Dan Piraro of King Features Syndicate, editorial cartoonist Steve Kelley of The Times-Picayune of New Orleans and Creators Syndicate, and columnist Ray Hanania of the Southwest News-Herald in Illinois, self-syndication, and the Arab Writers Group Syndicate.
