Resume Scout Searches Online R?sum? Databases
CareerPath.com of Los Angeles is pursuing recruiters online with yesterday’s launch of
The service appears only a month after Forrester Research found that CareerPath.com wasn’t
used by any of the 50 recruiters surveyed by the research group.
Resume Scout allows recruiters to subscribe for access to more than 100 r?sum? databases and
CareerPath.com’s Resume Connection with 1.2 million r?sum?s. After a complimentary 14-day

Resume Scout brings CareerPath.com closer to becoming a career network. And becoming a career
network is a necessary development if current career sites want to succeed, according to
several analysts who cover the online employment space.
This service for recruiters appears as CareerPath.com considers its future. Stephen Ste. Marie,
CEO of CareerPath.com, recently told Bridge News that an investment banker was hired in
September for a strategic review. Bridge also speculated that the recent merger between two
CareerPath.com co-owners, Times Mirror Co. and Tribune Co., may lead to changes at the career site.
Other newspaper investors in CareerPath.com include Knight Ridder, The New York Times Co., The
Washington Post Co., Cox Newspapers Inc., Gannett Co. Inc., and Hearst Corp.
