Cartoonist Hardin ‘Jack’ Burnley Dies at 95

Former syndicated cartoonist Hardin “Jack” Burnley died last week in Virginia at the age of 95.

Burnley did sports cartoons in the 1930s, and later drew the “Batman” comic strip and newspaper illustrations.

He also had a comic-book career, drawing Superman and other characters — including his own “Starman” creation.
