Reports about editorial cartoonist Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher’s recent trip to Azerbaijan can be seen on his blog.
E&P had mentioned the then-upcoming trip in a June 13 story.
Kal’s — whose Economist cartoons are distributed by the New York Times Syndicate/CartoonArts International — wrote: “I was there on the invitation of the US embassy to hold an exhibition of my cartoons and meet with diplomats, journalists, artists, filmmakers, and citizens. Our discussions would center on political cartooning and its valuable role of free expression in western democracies.”
On his blog, the cartoonist discussed the country’s politics, fashion, and more. The reports can be seen here.
Starting July 14, Kal will be in China as part of an international jury for the Asian Youth Animation and Cartoon Contest.
