Cartoonist Marshall Rogers died Sunday in Fremont, Calif. He was 57.

Rogers was mostly a comic book artist (working on “Batman,” for instance), but he also drew the syndicated “Batman” comic strip.

He trained as an architect at Ohio’s Kent State University — training reflected in his detailed depictions of Gotham City in “Batman.”
