Editorial cartoonist Joel Pett will speak Oct. 9 at a lecture presented by the University of Kentucky Libraries’ Special Programs and Digital Collections in Lexington.

The 2000 Pulitzer Prize winner, who’s with the Lexington Herald-Leader and the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate/New York Times Syndicate, will discuss his work and the historical significance of editorial cartoons.

An open house following Pett’s lecture will include exhibits focusing on efforts to collect and digitize Kentucky newspapers from years ago.

Pett’s appearance was mentioned on ComicsReporter.com.
