‘Cayman Free Press’ Goes to CTP

By: Meg Campbell

The Cayman Free Press, based in Georgetown, Grand Cayman, has gone to thermal computer-to-plate output with the installation of a new Screen platesetter and software.

Producing 18 plates per hour, the PlateRite 6600 is being used for the group’s commercial work and as a back-up for the newspaper. The Free Press will install a second platesetter in the fall, a News 2000, which will be used exclusively for its newspaper operations, according to commercial print director Trevor Hills.
