The Seattle Post-Intelligencer has appointed two top editors new sets of responsibilities.
Managing Editor David McCumber assumes the top leadership role in the P-I newsroom. Kenneth F. Bunting has been named associate publisher.
McCumber, 53, will retain his current title and will still still run the P-I’s daily news meeting and continue in his other newsroom managerial tasks. His new responsibilities include the newsroom’s budget and making policy decisions. He will report directly to Publisher/Editor Roger Oglesby.
Bunting, 56, has served as executive editor for the past seven years. In his new capacity, he will focus on strategic planning and reader and community relations.
In addition, Bunting will write a weekly column and will serve as a member of the P-I’s editorial board.
