(AP)A Cheyenne newspaper delivery man has been injured by a hit-and-run driver.

Investigators say 47-year-old William Maes suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized after he was struck early Saturday while delivering the Cheyenne Tribune-Eagle. The nature of his injuries and his condition weren’t available, but police say he is stable.

Investigators say Maes drives a delivery truck, but it’s not clear whether he was in the vehicle when he was hit.

Police say they cited 19-year-old Kevin Tharp of Cheyenne on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail and a fine of $750.
