Chicago Sun-Times union newsroom employees Wednesday night overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year contract.
As reported, the contract gives the 190 newsroom workers a 1.5% raise in the first year, followed by 2% raises in each of the next two years. The contract also calls for an increased company contribution to health insurance of $5 a year in the first two years, and a $10 contribution in the final year.
The vote to approve the contract was 80 to 18.
The new contract goes into effect Oct. 1.
