Boni Fine, the vice president of strategic development for the Sun-Times News Group (STNG), has been named vice president of advertising for the Hollinger International Inc. flagship Chicago Sun-Times.
Fine succeeds Heather McKie, who is retiring and relocating to Scottsdale, Ariz.
Fine joined the Sun-Times in 1994 and served as vice president-administration before becoming publisher of the group’s Post-Tribune in northwest Indiana in 1998. In 2004, she assumed responsibility for STNG’s Midwest Suburban papers, including the Daily Southtown in Tinley Park, Ill.
She was named to the strategic development position last year.
“Boni has been instrumental in leading the development of our strategic plan, and I am excited by the vision and leadership she will bring to our advertising sales efforts,” Sun-Times Publisher John Cruickshank said in a statement.
