City’s First Daily Newspaper Launched 100 Years Ago

Aug. 22, 1912, was not a very big news day for Escondido.

The daily paper reported that El Cajon was planning a Fruit Day celebration, a man was fined $50 for illegally selling alcohol in Escondido, and farmers had met in San Marcos to discuss forming an association.
