Cleveland ‘Plain Dealer’ Cartoonist Expected to Resume Work in 2007

By: E&P Staff

Editorial cartoonist Jeff Darcy of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland is hoping to resume work next year after suffering a stroke last month, reported EditorialCartoonists.com today.

Darcy, 43, is expected to make a full recovery. The cartoonist, who is left-handed, said the stroke affected his left side.

“This means that from now on I can only draw cartoons on the right,” he quipped in an e-mail to EditorialCartoonists.com. “My doctors say that since most editorial cartoons already look like they were drawn by stroke sufferers this shouldn’t affect my ability to continue on with my job!”
