IFRA, the NAA and PANPA next month will present the members of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club for 2008-2010 at Nexpo in Washington, D.C.
After examining a record 198 submissions from a record 43 countries, the jury of international experts that met last month in Phoenix selected 50 newspapers from 18 countries which met the club’s production quality standards. Half are members for the first time; one, Switzerland’s St. Galler Tagblatt, has qualified for membership every two years from the start, in 1994.
This year, only one U.S. newspaper, The Grand Rapids (Mich.) Press, made the membership list. Three print sites responsible for two winning Canadian dailies are owned and operated by Transcontinental Inc.
