The Gazette in Colorado Springs, Colo., launched a quick read hyper-local newspaper on May 6.
Freshink is distributed on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and the weekend with a circulation of 10,000 through racks and retail outlets in targeted areas of Colorado Springs.
“The typical reader for the Freshink newspaper is someone who does not use the Gazette and is not inclined to subscribe to a larger newspaper for their information needs,” Steven Pope, the Gazette’s publisher, said in a statement.
Freshink is targeting small and medium-sized businesses as potential advertisers. “They have a business footprint that is very narrowly drawn, and the Freshink distribution matches this footprint,” Pope added.
Freshink is publishing some content from the Gazette in “digestible formats” with photos and graphics.
