‘Columbus Dispatch’ Installs KKS Conveyor, Forwarding Stations

By: E&P Staff

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch has asked its press maker, TKS, to replace its conveyors and forwarding stations with carrier and forwarding stations from KKS, a member of Japan’s TKS group.

The aluminum carrier can reach speeds from a press up to 100,000 copies an hour. Employing a cam closing design, the grippers carry copies from the folder to the mailroom.

Six pickup stations replace four conveyors to carry copies from the pressroom to the mailroom. The installation is the first for KKS in the United States and the third for the Dispatch from the TKS group. The paper also has automatic wrapper and roll-end removal in its roll-handling area.
