Scripps Howard News Service (SHNS) columnist Sharon Randall will be the keynote speaker at the Magna Cum Murder Crime Writing Festival, which runs Oct. 24-26 in Muncie, Ind.

The annual event includes programs, panels, interviews, and presentations. More than 40 crime-fiction authors and at least 300 attendees are expected at the Ball State University-sponsored festival.

Randall began writing her award-winning lifestyle column for The Monterey County (Calif.) Herald in 1991, and the feature was picked up for syndication by SHNS three years later.

SHNS is marketed by United Media.
