Creators Syndicate columnist William Murchison has joined the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) as a research fellow.

Murchison was a Baylor University journalism professor for five years before retiring in 2007. Prior to that, he was associate editor and senior columnist at The Dallas Morning News. And from 1966-73, he worked at the now-defunct Dallas Times Herald as oil editor, religion writer, reporter covering the Texas House of Representatives, and editorial writer.

The conservative commentator began writing his syndicated column in 1981, and has also contributed to National Review, The Weekly Standard, The American Spectator, The Wall Street Journal, and other publications. He is the author of several books, including “There’s More to Life Than Politics” and “Reclaiming Morality in America.”

IPI is a 20-year-old, nonprofit, “free market” public policy organization based in Dallas.
