Former President Bill Clinton won the annual National Society of Newspaper Columnists’ “Sitting Duck Award” Sunday for being an easy target for columnists.
Newly elected NSNC President Samantha Bennett of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette commented that “we bestow this dubious honor” on Clinton “in recognizition of all he said and did to bring stubborn stain to his wife’s campaign.”
Referring, of course, to how Clinton was often not a campaign asset for recent Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (a Creators Syndicate columnist when her husband was in the White House).
The award was announced during the NSNC conference in New Orleans.
Previous “Sitting Duck” winners include Universal Press Syndicate columnist Ann Coulter, Alberto Gonzales, Donald Rumsfeld, Martha Stewart, and others.
