Columnists’ Group Nominates 6 Officers

The National Society of Newspaper Columnists has announced nominees for various NSNC positions.

If elected June 24 at the organization’s 2007 conference in Philadelphia, the nominees will join a board headed by President Mike Argento of the York (Pa.) Daily Record and Vice President Samantha Bennett of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Argento and Bennett’s terms run through the NSNC’s 2008 conference in New Orleans.

Nominees include Ben Pollock of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for secretary, Lindor Reynolds of the Winnipeg Free Press for treasurer, Linda Caillouet of the Democrat-Gazette for archivist, Stu Bykofsky of the Philadelphia Daily News for contest chair, Dan St. Yves of Calgary for membership chair, and Smiley Anders of The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La., for 2008 conference chair.

Other candidates can be nominated during the NSNC’s June 21-24 conference.
