The Israeli-Palestinian Comedy Tour — whose participants include self-syndicated columnist Ray Hanania — will hold its first performance outside of Israel on May 29 in Toronto.
Hanania, a Palestinian-American writer/comedian, is on the tour with an Israeli-American, an Orthodox Jew, and an African-American who converted to Judaism. They joke about hot-button topics such as settlers, occupation, and suicide bombers.
“I don’t think humor or comedy by itself resolves conflicts,” said Hanania, “but Israelis and Palestinians need to see each other as human beings.”
The performance will take place at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall.
