Comic Strip’s ‘Time Top’ Comes to Life in Vancouver

By: E&P Staff

A Canadian gallery announced the installation of a huge “Time Top” modeled after a time/space vehicle that appeared in the “Brick Bradford” sci-fi comic in 1935.

According to the Catriona Jeffries gallery in Vancouver, Jerry Pethick’s “Time Top” bronze creation was submerged in the Pacific Ocean for two years to get coated with mineral deposits and barnacles. Now, it has been installed near Vancouver’s Cambie Bridge.

Pethick read “Brick Bradford” (by Clarence Gray and William Ritt) as a child.

E&P was tipped off to the “Time Top” installation by ComicsDC blogger Mike Rhode.
