Universal Press Syndicate announced that several of its comics will refer to Hurricane Katrina starting next week.
Scott Stantis’ “Prickly City” strip will include information about donating to the American Red Cross. Other Universal comics that will deal with the hurricane in some way include “Clear Blue Water” by Karen Montague-Reyes, “Doonesbury” by Garry Trudeau, “FoxTrot” by Bill Amend, “La Cucaracha” by Lalo Alcaraz, “Non Sequitur” by Wiley Miller, and “The Boondocks” by Aaron McGruder.
Even creators of topical comics have lead times that prevented their hurricane-related commentary from appearing in newspapers earlier.
