In many ways, Super Bowl XLVI was an exercise in déjà vu. The participants (Giants and Patriots), the outcome (a New York victory), and even the late-game drama (a spectacular catch to set up the winning touchdown) mirrored the memorable title game of four years ago. But if the Super Bowl didn’t change much, its media coverage surely did, especially in Connecticut’s Hartford/New Haven market, where outlets used new strategies to satiate impassioned fans of both teams.
