Cox Newspapers Names New Execs in Florida, Ohio

Doug Franklin has been appointed publisher of Cox Newspapers’ Palm Beach Newspapers in Florida. Since 2004, Franklin has served as president and CEO of Cox Ohio Publishing and publisher of the Dayton Daily News.

Franklin succeeds Tom Giuffrida, who is retiring effective May 1. Giuffrida joined Cox in 1979 and has served in his most recent capacity for nearly 23 years.

Michael Joseph has been appointed president and CEO of Cox Ohio Publishing and publisher of the Dayton Daily News, succeeding Franklin, effective March 31.

Joseph is promoted from senior vice president of business for Cox Ohio Publishing. He joined Cox Ohio publishing in 1995 and has been senior VP/business since 2005. In his new role, he will oversee the Daily News, the Springfield News-Sun, the Oxford Press, and the Lebanon Western Star, among others.

Cox also announced today that Edwina Blackwell Clark has been named publisher of Cox Ohio Publishing?s Southwest Group.
