Kentucky’s Cynthiana Publishing Co. completed installation of NewsXtreme from developer Presteligence to handle plate imposition, scheduling and soft proofing. The company, a subsidiary of Landmark Community Newspapers, publishes the weekly Cynthiana Democrat and a TMC product, as well as a number of area newspapers and specialty publications.
Presteligence’s computer-to-plate software was installed in conjunction with a new PlateRite News 2000 thermal platesetter from Screen USA and a new Harlequin RIP. The company has improved processing speeds dramatically, according Presteligence, allowing it to produce eight publications in the new workflow one week after switching to CTP output.
