Noreen McAuliffe was one of the 649 people — including several journalists — arrested, handcuffed, and detained during protests at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings in Washington on Friday, Sept. 27. When she saw the next day’s headline in The Washington Times, “Cops handle protesters; city stays open,” McAuliffe presented her own reporting in a letter the newspaper published Oct. 1.
