New York Paper Says Reader Demand Spurs Jump

The Daily News Express, the new free evening commuter paper from the New York Daily News is increasing its press run from 75,000 to 90,000 copies.

Daily News President and COO Les Goodstein attributes the increase to reader demand and updated Olympics coverage. The newspaper is being distributed at subway stations, bus stops, and commuter train depots.

In a growing newspaper war, cross-town rival the New York Post recently slashed its newsstand price to 25 cents.
