Al Dia, the daily Spanish-language paper published by The Dallas Morning News, launched its twice-weekly tripling of distribution with Wednesday’s edition.
Al Dia is distributing an additional 80,000 copies of the free paper on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Al distributes 40,000 copies on its other publication days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Publisher Alejandro Sanchez Sobrino said the expansion is a response to the continuing growth of the Spanish-speaking population in North Texas.
“This is a very aggressive move by Al Dia to better serve its consumers and advertisers. Tripling our circulation while others are shrinking theirs demonstrates our commitment to serve the growing Latino community in North Texas,” he said.
The Morning News is outsourcing the expanded distribution of the paper to American Circulation Innovations (ACI).
ACI will also handle distribution for the Morning News’ new targeted daily product Briefing, which launches Aug. 27.
