“Bizarro” creator Dan Piraro of King Features Syndicate will be the guest cartoonist Sept. 30 at the Charles M. Schulz Museum, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this summer and fall.

As previously reported, self-syndicated “This Modern World” cartoonist Tom Tomorrow is speaking Sept. 29 at the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based museum.

Among other events scheduled for this month are a Sept. 22 “Joe Cool Festival” on the ballfield next to the museum, followed by an auction of Joe Cool statues — one of which is autographed by 2007 San Francisco Giants players as well as by former Giants great Willie Mays.

Money from the auction will go to art scholarships and a bronze statue of Charlies Brown and Linus that will be unveiled Sept. 23 at the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.

“Peanuts” reruns by Schulz (1922-2000) continue to be syndicated by United Media.
