David Morse, Journalist Arrested During BART Protest, Loses Suit

By: Bob Egelko | San Francisco Chronicle

A journalist who has written critically of BART and its police failed to prove that officers were retaliating for his coverage when they arrested him for blocking a fare gate during a protest, a federal court jury concluded Monday.

After a weeklong trial in San Francisco, the seven-member jury unanimously rejected David Morse’s claim that BART police were punishing him for his criticism when they arrested him during a September 2011 demonstration at the Powell Street Station.
