Davison Returns to ‘Idaho Press-Tribune’ as Publisher

Former Idaho Press-Tribune Advertising Director Matt Davison was been named president and publisher of the Canyon County daily, based in Nampa. He starts Oct. 1.

Until now publisher of another Pioneer newspaper, the Ellensburg (Wash.) Daily Record, Davison rejoins the IPT to take over for Rick Weaver, who in early spring took the job of publisher of Hagadone Corp.’s Daily Inter Lake, Kalispell, Mont.

Davison was ad director in Nampa from 2003 to 2006, according to the IPT‘s Website, which reported Sept. 10 that Pioneer Newspapers President and CEO Mike Gugliotto announced Davison’s appointment that morning in Nampa.

“He’s made many contributions to our company, both as publisher at the Ellensburg Daily Record and as director of Interactive Media for Pioneer,” the IPT quoted Gugliotto saying.

Davison started his career at The Bulletin, Bend, Ore., in 1995. He remained in the sate to become ad manager at The Mail Tribune, Medford, and Ashland Daily Tidings, before moving to Nampa.
