The editorial cartoons of Mike Peters are now appearing in color, according to a Dayton (Ohio) Daily News article linked on DailyCartoonist.com.

Peters, a Pulitzer Prize-winning creator for the Daily News and King Features Syndicate, joins a growing list of editorial cartoonists doing multi-hued work (see E&P magazine, June 2005, p. 12).

That’s not the only change in the Daily News opinion section. “We’ll be adding a daily cartoon, in addition to Mike’s, to our pages,” Editorial Page Editor Ellen Belcher told readers. “It will be from a conservative cartoonist. When both cartoonists are taking different views on the same subject, we’ll showcase Mike and the other cartoonist in a visual duel.” The paper will also publish opposing views next to its editorials.

Among the other opinion-section changes is the moving of “Doonesbury” (by Garry Trudeau of Universal Press Syndicate) to the Daily News comics section.
