The Detroit Newspaper Partnership has named Caryn Manning as vice president/advertising, and Henry Ford as vice president/business development.
Manning was previously vice president/advertising at The Herald in Bradenton, Fla. She joined that paper in January 2005 as interim publisher. Prior to that, she held various sales and management positions for Detroit Newspapers.
She will assume her new role on Nov. 6 and will be responsible for the newspaper and integrated media sales for national, local retail, and major accounts, as well as advertising agencies.
Ford will oversee the company?s custom publishing, magazine, and target divisions. He joined the company in 2004 as vice president/market development.
Before coming to Detroit, Ford was president of The Ford Group and held management positions at the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News and Newsday in Melville, N.Y.
