The DeWitt Era-Enterprise, which has served the town of DeWitt, Arkansas for 130 years, has been sold by C.F. Scott and Christina Verderosa to an investment company from Illinois.

The Era-Enterprise has been a consistent winner in Arkansas Press Association editorial competitions in recent years.

This transaction represents the first newspaper acquisition in Arkansas for the purchasers. They own newspapers in Missouri, Illinois and Michigan.

Primary areas for growth of the business under the new ownership is expected to be in Internet operations.

Rickenbacher Media represented the sellers, and also represented the previous owners when Scott and Verderosa purchased the business 16 years ago.
