‘Dodge City Daily Globe’ Reporter Ordered to Testify in Murder Trial
By: E&P Staff
The Kansas Supreme Court Tuesday refused to quash a subpoena ordering a Dodge City Daily Globe reporter to testify about her jailhouse interview with a murder suspect.
The high court denied the petition from the newspaper’s parent, GateHouse Media, to quash the petition forcing reporter Clair O’Brien to testify at the trial, which begins Feb. 25.
Earlier, the Supreme Court denied the prosecution’s reequest to force O’Brien to hand over her notes from the interview with murder suspect Samuel Bonilla, who is facing second-degree murder count and an attempted murder charge involving the shooting of two men last Labor Day weekend.
